Avoiding Crisis

9 hours later…

and we’re only half-way to our destination.

We left the house this morning at 9:15AM. We arrived in Bahia Blanca at approximately 6:15PM. All I can say is that was one really really long six hour drive. It would have been an hour or so shorter had we not hit a shit load of traffic getting out the the city this morning.

On the upside, it was a beautiful day to go for a drive. Sunny and clear. You could see for miles. Though, to be completely honest, there’s not really much to see between the City of Buenos Aires and Bahia Blanca. It’s a little over 600 KM of really green grass, flat land, cows and cows and more cows, some horses and the occasional sheep.

Thank god for portable DVD players.

Here’s a few photos from today’s adventure.

This is what we were stuck in for about 2 hours. Apparently there was an accident, but by the time we got to where the accident was supposed to have been, there was no sign of any accident.

and this is what I had to look at for most of those 2 hours.

We contemplated calling the owner of the vehicle just to see what he thought of the wonderful traffic we were sitting in.

Here’s what Abbey thought about it.

After 4 hours in the car and two very hungry children, we gave up trying to find some place nice to have a picnic and instead opted for this.

and for about 5 minutes we were all one big happy family

until a fly landed on Abbey’s PB&J and she decided to wig out, running to the car and insisting that we were all much better off in the car and away from the bugs.

But the bugs followed us. We could not get rid of them. Many of them even decided to make their final resting place on our windshield.

and that was all fine and dandy until i had to spend over an hour of the drive looking at this

Tomorrow…the adventure continues….stay tuned!

  1. Oh God. Can’t let John see this or he’ll nix the road trip idea. Especially the part with the disgusting splat. But I love the details! Keep ’em coming! And I wish you smooth sailing and WiFi for the rest of the trip.
