Avoiding Crisis

foreign 7

with 3 comments

just had to share this…

me: Honey, about this bill you paid at the Embassy, how much was it?
him: I don’t remember, it says it right on it.
me: Yes, I know, but I can’t read the first number.
him: I don’t know.
I walk upstairs and show him the bill
him: It’s a 70 (he says very matter-of-factly)
me: That doesn’t look like a 7
him: But it is a 7. I paid 70 pesos.
me: Well that’s the strangest looking 7 I’ve ever seen
him: What do you expect? It’s foreign.

  1. Actually. . .I can see how one might think that is a 7. You know. . .they put that little line through their 7s in Europe. . .and I can’t imagine what other number this would be.

  2. I would have gone with a 2…or at least the distant cousin of a 2…

  3. dawn…don’t be such a smarty-pants.

yeah, steph, i thought it was a 2 as well…but that bill (which we get twice a month) is never less than 50 pesos so I knew it couldn’t be a 2.
